Special Ceremony by Iqbal Academy Pakistan on fifth death anniversary of Iqbal's son Dr. Javed Iqbal "بیاد ڈاکٹر جاوید اقبال"

A special ceremony was organized by Iqbal Academy Pakistan on the occasion of the fifth death anniversary of Iqbal's son Dr. Javed Iqbal. The ceremony was presided over by Senator Waleed Iqbal. Justice Nasira Iqbal and Mian Iqbal Salahuddin were the special guests. Director Iqbal Academy Pakistan Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambreen expressed gratitude while Haroon Akram Gill hosted the event. Guest speakers included Dr. Atiya Syed, Brigadier Dr. Waheed-uz-Zaman Tariq, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, Ejaz-ul-Haq Ijaz, Dr. Tahir Hameed Tanoli, Mian Sajid Ali, Hassan Raza Iqbali and Muhammad Tariq Tahir.
Senator Waleed Iqbal said that by advancing the concept of Maulana Rumi's perfect man and Nietzsche's Superman, Iqbal introduced the concept of man of truth which he achieved in the form of Quaid-e-Azam. My father always sought the truth according to his teachings. Justice Nasira Javed Iqbal said that Javed Iqbal (late) was very hardworking. After nine years of research, Dr. Sahib wrote "Zinda Rood" and did not seek help from anyone. He missed his mother very much and he organized himself according to his father's orders. Addressing the gathering, Mian Iqbal Salahuddin said that the life of Dr. Javed Iqbal was a true depiction of Allma Iqbal’s poem “دیار عشق میں اپنا مقام پیدا کر. He likened the silence of Lala and Gul to the "silent majority". He said that the books of Dr. Javed Iqbal should also be included in the new curriculum.
Dr Muhammad Saleem Mazhar said that Dr Javed Iqbal had the same outward and inward appearance. He understood Allama Iqbal best. He was a prolific writer, authoritative and impartial researcher. He said that in order to understand Allama Iqbal, one must read his prose and in this regard, the writings of Dr. Javed Iqbal guide us. Dr. Saleem Mazhar also expressed the wish that the Punjab University would sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Iqbal Academy to further the teachings of Allama Iqbal and Dr. Javed Iqbal.
Director Iqbal Academy Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambreen said that Iqbal's poetry is a metaphor of strength, movement and warmth. In Kalam Iqbal, "جاوید نامہ" is a metaphor for the youth movement. Dr. Javed Iqbal made the best use of his scientific and research abilities. Making Iqbal's words popular among the youth is the most important need at this time.
Brigadier Dr Waheed-uz-Zaman Tariq said that Allama Iqbal had told Chaudhry Muhammad Hussain before his death that Javed Iqbal must be taught "Javed Namah" and it had a profound effect on his life.
Dr. Atiya Syedne paid homage to Javed Iqbal (late) and expressed her views on him in terms of knowledge and personality. Dr. Tahir Hameed Tanoli said that Javed Iqbal always ignored his shortcomings and encouraged him. Hassan Raza Iqbali said that it is a pleasure for me to spend time with Javed Iqbal. He was very kind to me. Mian Sajid Ali while talking said that a commemorative ticket should also be issued in the memory of Dr. Javed Iqbal. Young scholar Muhammad Tariq Tahir gave a brief commentary on the biography and personality of Dr. Javed Iqbal. An exhibition of Javed Iqbal's books was also organized by Iqbal Academy Pakistan on the occasion.
