Lecture Organized on the topic of "Teaching and researching Urdu and Iqbaliyat in Japan"

On March 14, 2023, a lecture titled "Teaching and Researching Urdu and Iqbaliyat in Japan" was organized by Iqbal Academy Pakistan. It was presided over by Professor Dr. Muhammad Fakhrul Haque Noori. The guest speaker was Professor Dr. Marghub Hussain Tahir. Director Iqbal Academy Pakistan Professor Dr. Baseera Ambareen delivered the welcome speech.
Dr. Marghub Hussain said that Japan is trying to learn languages ​​and sciences from all over the world. These languages ​​include Urdu. In Japan, the center of elementary education of Urdu language has been the two big cities of Tokyo and Osaka. After the establishment of Pakistan in 1947, the Hindustani department was changed to the Urdu department. There are Urdu departments in the universities of three major cities of Japan, Tokyo University, Osaka University and Daito Banka University, and a good number of Japanese students study Urdu language. A lot of work has been done on Iqbaliyat in these three universities.
Apart from Allama Iqbal's poetry, Asadullah Ghalib, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, rules of Urdu language, Islamic studies, stories and novels of many well-known writers, including selected translations of the stories of Saadat Hasan Manto and Intizar Hussain, Shaukat Siddiqui's novel and other important works, including God's Abode, have been translated into Japanese. Dr. Marghub Hussain said that along with the language in Japan, awareness should also be spread about Pakistan's ideology and society.
Dr. Muhammad Fakhrul Haque Noori said that there are around 14 "chairs" around the world through which diplomacy regarding culture has to be done. Urdu is widely spoken in Japan. In Japan, through the Urdu language, people there become our ambassadors. Scholars from Pakistan have done many academic and literary services in Japan and have kept the light of Urdu lit. Along with Urdu, a lot of work is being done in Japan on Iqbal's thoughts, ideas and poetry.
