On the occasion of the 145th birth anniversary of Hazrat Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal on Thursday, November 10, 2022, a "Seminar on Thought of Iqbal" was organized by the Department of Urdu, Division of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Education Lower Mall Campus, Lahore.

The seminar was presided over by Prof. Dr. Basira Ambreen Director of Iqbal Academy, Pakistan. Hassan Raza Iqbali, an Iqbal Scholar and research scholar from Pakistan and Ms. Wafa Yazdan Munsh, an Iqbal Scholar from the Department of Urdu, University of Tehran, attended the seminar on special invitation. Along with him, the Director of the Division of Arts and Social Sciences and Iqbal Scholar Professor Dr. Waheedur Rahman Khan and the Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Education Professor Dr. Muhammad Arshad also participated in the seminar. Dr. Saima Ali was the host of the seminar.
After the recitation of Holy Quran and Naat Rasool Maqbool ﷺ, and Kalam Iqbal was presented. Later on Director Division of Arts and Social Sciences gave a brief introduction to all the guests while thanking the distinguished guests. After this brief introduction, Hasan Raza Iqbali gave a thought-provoking lecture on Iqbal's philosophy of Self. Dr. Wafa Yazdan Munsh enlightened the audience on the research done regarding Iqbal's Persian poetry and especially Iqbal studies in Iran.
Professor Dr. Basira Ambreen gave an insightful lecture regarding Iqbal's thought and vision and the importance of youth in Iqbal's thought. The status and importance of this seminar in this university is important in the sense that Iqbal's teachings are very important to understand for today's Muslims and especially Pakistani youth so that they can offer their services to the society as a positive and active citizen.
At the end of the seminar, the students also presented flower bouquets to the distinguished guests. Students and teachers of Urdu department as well as teachers and students of other departments also participated in this seminar with utmost interest and enthusiasm.
