‘Iqbal Studies’ moot begins
LAHORE: Iqbal Academy Pakistan, in collaboration with ECO Cultural Institute, headquarter Tehran, has organised a 3-day ‘International Iqbal Studies’ conference here at Aiwan-e-Iqbal on Monday. Over 75 Iqbal scholars will present their research papers in various sessions during the three-day conference.
Sahibzada Sultan Ahmad Ali presided over the conference while Director Iqbal Academy Pakistan Dr Abdul Rauf Rafiqui delivered the welcome address. Dr Rafiqui said that Allama Iqbal’s voice echoes globally, transcending racial and geographical boundaries. Iqbal Academy worked tirelessly to promote Iqbal's thought at nationally and international level. ECO Cultural Institute President Dr Saad Khan stated that Iqbal's message is universal, focusing on humanity beyond racial and national limitations.
Sahibzada Sultan Ahmad Ali noted that Iqbal's poetry inspired people to take charge of their destiny and promote Islamic unity. Scholars from over seven countries, including Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran, Jammu and Kashmir, Kuwait, China, Tajikistan and the UK participated in the conference.
