Renowned intellectual, writer, researcher, poet, playwright and Professor Dr. Tariq Aziz passed away on May 20, 2021 in Lahore while fighting the Corona virus. Courageous Dr. Tariq Aziz was born on January 10, 1954 in Jhelum. He obtained his MA in Urdu from Punjab University in 1978 with a prominent position. His important works on Iqbal are titled "تلخیص خطبات اقبال" and "اقبال شناسی اور فولیو". Other works include "کارل مارکس اور اس کی تعلیمات", "اردو رسم الخط اور ٹائپ", "نئی ادبی جہتیں", "جلاوطن شاعر", "بسیرا". Dr. Tariq Aziz wrote innumerable plays for Pakistan Television. He also received the award for Best Drama Writer from the Government of Pakistan. Director Iqbal Academy Pakistan Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambreen expressed deep sorrow over the death of Dr. Tariq Aziz and appreciated his services. She said that Dr. Tariq Aziz was a great teacher and writer. His death is a great loss to the world of Urdu literature.
