A ceremony was held on July 9, 2024 at the office of Management and Services UMT to sign a memorandum of understanding between Iqbal Academy Pakistan and University of Management and Technology, Lahore for the promotion of Iqbal’s thought and understanding. It was agreed to exchange Iqbal literature and other research materials, cooperation and establish links in educational fields.
Director Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafiqui Signed on behalf of Iqbal Academy Pakistan and Dr. Abid Hussain Sherawani Co-Founder and Chief Advisor University of Management and Technology on behalf of University of Management and Technology Lahore. On this occasion Dean School of Designing and Textile Dr. Murtaza Malik, Director School of Governance and Society Ayesha Azhar, Dr. Muhammad Rafiq Khan Economist, Registrar Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Director School of Law Dr. Kashif Imran Zaidi Chief Library Officer Dr. Zaheer, Public Relations Officer Iqbal Academy Pakistan Mr. Muhammad Ishaq was present.
Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafiqui, highlighting the importance of this memorandum of understanding, said that there is a solution to our contemporary problems in Iqbal's thought. His message is the conveyer of freedom of thought and higher aims of life which should be promoted in our youth. Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafiqui said that as the Director of Iqbal Academy, his effort is to connect the educational institutions of Pakistan with Iqbal Academy so as to connect with the youth. He also mentioned the use of modern technological means such as mobile phone applications to convey Iqbal's message to the youth.
Dr. Abid Hussain Sherwani said that we have to move towards the implementation of Allama Iqbal's message and get practical guidance from him. For this University will fully cooperate with Iqbal Academy Pakistan. He termed this memorandum of understanding between the two institutions as an important milestone for the promotion of Fikr-e-Iqbal. At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Abid Sherwani presented a gift of books to Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafiqui.
