Iqbal Academy Pakistan Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Pakistan Girl Guides Association

On February 11, 2024, Iqbal Academy Pakistan and the Pakistan Girl Guides Association (PGGA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in a formal ceremony held at the Pakistan Girl Guides Association Headquarters. The MoU was signed by Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafiqui, Director, Iqbal Academy Pakistan, and Ms. Maria Maud Sabri, Chief Commissioner of PGGA, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafiqui emphasized that the philosophy of selfhood (Khudi) as presented by Allama Iqbal can instill confidence among Girl Guides, empowering them to build a bright and inclusive future. The goal of this collaboration is to enable young women to embrace determination, creativity, values and leadership. Under this agreement, both the organizations will jointly organize events, conferences, lectures, and seminars to introduce the younger generation to Iqbal’s teachings.
Ms. Maria Maud Sabri highlighted that the Girl Guides and the Boy Scouts are not just movements but platforms for education, awareness, skill development, public health promotion and knowledge dissemination. She further stated that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah laid the foundation of this movement and now, in alignment with Allama Iqbal’s vision, they are committed to carrying forward this mission. She emphasized that Iqbal-inspired initiatives will help young women to prepare for future challenges, enabling them to play a significant role in society.
The event was also attended by Chief Secretary Pakistan Girl Guides Association Ms. Shamsa Kashif, along with other distinguished guests.
