at Aiwan-e-Iqbal Lahore.

A special Lecture on علامہ اقبال اور دانش حاضر was organized by Iqbal Academy Pakistan on 9 December, 2021 at Aiwan-e-Iqbal Lahore. Dr Rasheed Arshad, Assistant Professor of Philosophy Punjab University delivered the Lecture. He said that Allama Iqbal used the term of دانش حاضر many times in his Kalam and he meant Modern Knowledge. He used the term دانش فرنگ in same connotation. But it doesn’t mean that he was impressed by this wisdom. Instead he says that this wisdom is neither familiar with his roots nor he likes it.
Allama thinks that this western wisdom has given birth to conflict and clash of civilization.
