Guest Speaker: Dr. Ali Kumail Qazlbash

An online lecture titled “Allama Iqbal and Khushal Khan Khattak” was organized by Iqbal Academy Pakistan on March 15, 2021. Guest speaker Dr. Ali Kumail Qazlbash spoke on the topic. Dr. Ali Kumail Qazlbash said that Iqbal and Khushal Khan Khattak have similarities in terms of poetry, ideas and philosophy. The love of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, Islamic values, the personality of Hazrat Ali, the love of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ and many other important topics are shared. Topics like “The concept of the Mard e Momin, freedom, youth, blessing in action, the concept of Shaheen and Wa’ez, the greatness of the sword, the tradition of not accepting defeat, distance from kings and sultans, condemnation of slavery, trust, love and consciousness and love for young men” appear in both poets. There were no more than 100 verses in Khushal's kalam but Allama's keen eye showed the greatness of his poems. Allama was impressed by his thought and philosophy. Allama Iqbal wrote a paper on Khushal Khan Khattak and this piece was also published in 1928.
