Under the patronage of the Government of Balochistan’s Colleges, Higher, and Technical Education Department, a delegation of talented students and teachers from Balochistan visited Iqbal Academy Pakistan on February 17, 2025. The delegation comprised 40 students and 10 teachers who explored the IT, Academics and Library Sections of the Iqbal Academy Pakistan. They showed great interest in the books and rare artifacts used by Allama Muhammad Iqbal, housed in the academy's library.
On this occasion, Iqbal Academy Pakistan organized a special event titled "Iqbal Awareness Trends Among the Youth of Balochistan." The event featured speeches by Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafiqi, Director, Iqbal Academy Pakistan, Dr. Tahir Hameed Tanoli, Head of the Academics Section, and Professor Jaweria from Cantt College Quetta. The session was moderated by Mr. Muhammad Ishaq. During his speech, Dr. Tahir Hameed Tanoli highlighted that Allama Iqbal’s political ideology, poetry and writings awakened a sense of freedom and self-respect among Muslim youth. He emphasized that Iqbal’s philosophy inspires young minds to think critically and reflect deeply. His works revolve around character-building and through his poetry, he spread the teachings of Islam and the Holy Quran, urging young generation to live their lives in accordance with the Quran, Sunnah and the exemplary conduct of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Professor Jaweria remarked that Allama Iqbal envisioned youth possessing the qualities of a falcon and the virtues of a true believer. His poetry first narrates the glorious eras of Muslims, then describes contemporary challenges, and finally offers hope for a promising future. By reminding the new generation of the greatness of their ancestors, he instills courage and determination in Muslim youth, assuring them of a bright future. In his address, Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafiqi stated that Allama Iqbal visited Balochistan four times and several literary organizations in the province have been established in his name, actively working to promote and interpret his philosophy. He noted that Balochistan’s educational and literary institutions have shown significant interest in Iqbal’s thoughts and poetry, as demonstrated by today’s event. Dr. Rafiqi further stated that if the youth draw guidance from Iqbal’s philosophy, they can emerge as an exemplary nation and individuals on the global stage.
During the event, Baloch female students performed a tableau based on Iqbal’s famous poem "Iblees Ki Majlis-e-Shura" and presented a group rendition of "Buddha Baloch Ki Naseehat" in a melodious manner. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafiqi presented a shield to Ms. Ghazala. Professor Durdana, and Professor Iqra Khalid also attended the event.
