The teaching of the Qur'an that life is a process of progressive creation necessitates that each generation, guided but unhampered by the work of its predecessors, should be permitted to solve its own problems.

Activities of Iqbal Academy Scandanavia:

• We have been celebrating and arranging functions here two times in a year during April and November. Local Urdu papers give quite a good coverage of these functions and lot of pictures is published.
• As a result of these activities a group of students from higher education emerged and approached us that they want to learn about Iqbal for whom they have been hearing too much since their childhood. It was also funny to know that they knew Iqbal as a great poet of Pakistan and nothing more than that.
• The first meeting of Iqbal Study Group was held on 25.02.04 - An introduction of Iqbal as a poet-philosopher.
• The students arranged a marvellous Pakistan Independence Day function in a big hall at Gladsaxe here during August 2004 in which Abid Ali Abid was the chief guest as I was out of the country. Abid is in Lahore these days on short study visit in connection with his PhD.
• In September 2004 Iqbal Study Group held a meeting to find out "who is Allama Iqbal" Another session was held in the same month. The topic was, "Allama Iqbal's perception of the Muslim world and his concept of Pakistan.
• In October 2004 the subject given by the Group was "The introduction to the poetry of Iqbal - The basic ideas, teaching and symbols.
• In November 2004 the Group celebrated Iqbal day and a good panel debate about importance of Allama Iqbal today in Pakistan and for the youngsters living abroad.
• February 2005. A poet Fawad Karamat was invited to comment on Allama Iqbal and recite his own poetry. Then there was a panel debate on Allama Iqbal's poetry.
• In the month of August there are going to be two sessions. One celebration of Pakistan Day (a big gathering as usual) and a meeting of our Study Group in which a very good classical singer Perveiz with his wife have been invited. Both are learned and intellectual. We will discuss "music and Iqbal".
